About
Tromsdalen church, which everyone calls the Arctic Cathedral, is the building on the postcards: eleven white concrete triangles stacked like ice floes, with a vast stained-glass window filling the east wall. It's a working parish church, not a museum. That's part of the charm, and it means opening times bend around services and concerts. Go in if it's open. Even closed, it's worth the walk over the bridge, and the best view of it is from the bridge itself at dusk. In summer there are midnight concerts, which is the right way to hear the building used.
