An open-air museum a few kilometres east of the centre: relocated wooden houses on a hillside above the water, and a collection of traditional Sunnmøre boats that is the real reason to come. This coast built distinctive open fishing boats for a thousand years, and here they are, in the water and out of it. Emphatically a fair-weather visit; the indoor boat hall keeps it from being a washout if clouds roll in.
