The view that explains why postcards love this town: from the Fjellstua platform on Aksla you look straight down on the art nouveau centre, the islands and the open sea. The classic way up is the stone stairway from the town park. It's steep enough to earn the view and short enough that most people just get on with it. There's a café at the top, and a road for anyone who'd rather drive. Come back down the same way and the whole outing fits between lunch and dinner.
